Introduction
ERGO Operations requires a professionally competent HR Officer with strong legislative knowledge, technical capability, and systems proficiency to support effective people management practices. The incumbent must demonstrate an in-depth understanding of key South African labour and skills development legislation, including the Skills Development Act, SAQA framework, Labour Relations Act, and B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice. This knowledge is essential to ensure full statutory compliance and to align all HR interventions with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
The role demands proven technical expertise in conducting and analysing skills audits, as well as practical experience in utilising SETA-specific online platforms for the submission, tracking, and reporting of training and development initiatives. The HR Officer must also be capable of developing, reviewing, and implementing HR policies and procedures that promote consistency, governance, and compliance across the organisation.
Furthermore, the incumbent should be proficient in HR information systems, such as Sage 300 People or equivalent platforms, to ensure accurate employee data management, reporting integrity, and effective HR administration. Advanced competence in MS Office applications is required to support data analysis, reporting, and the monitoring of key HR metrics.
Overall, the HR Officer plays a critical role in driving compliance, supporting talent development, and ensuring the efficient and legally sound operation of HR functions within Ergo Operations .

- Training coordination and management
- Compliance & Reporting: Maintain a robust training matrix and ensure all interventions comply with the Skills Development Act, the NQF, and B-BBEE priority element requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
Minimum requirements
- Qualification: National Diploma (NQF level 6 240-360 credits) or Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology (NQF 7/8 360 -480 credits)
- Experience: 3–5 years of experience as an HRD Practitioner or HR Generalist, preferably within a Mining Manufacturing, or Engineering environment.
