Introduction
Ergo Plant requires a Metallurgical Foreman who will be responsible for supervising and coordinating metallurgical plant operations to ensure safe, efficient, and optimal gold production. The role focuses on achieving production targets, maintaining process stability, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Job description
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily metallurgical plant operations, including milling, leaching, elution, and tailings management
- Ensure production targets and recovery rates are achieved in line with plant objectives
- Monitor process performance and make adjustments to optimise plant efficiency
- Lead and manage plant operators and artisans on shift
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
- Conduct regular inspections of plant equipment and processes
- Assist in troubleshooting plant inefficiencies and breakdowns
- Ensure accurate recording of production data and shift reports
- Coordinate maintenance activities with engineering and maintenance teams
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the plant
Minimum requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- National Diploma or Degree in Metallurgy Engineering, or related field
- 5–7 years’ experience in a metallurgical gold processing plant
- At least 2–3 years’ supervisory experience in a plant environment
- Strong knowledge of gold extraction processes (CIP/CIL, elution, smelting)
