Key Responsibilities

1. Assist with Equipment Maintenance and Repairs
• Assist  Fitters with routine maintenance of mining equipment such as crushers, conveyors, pumps, and drilling machinery.
• Hand tools and parts during servicing.
• Clean and inspect machine components.
2. Preventive Maintenance Support
• Assist with scheduled inspections.
• Replace filters, lubricate moving parts, and check fluid levels under fitter artisan supervision.
• Clean and maintain work areas after servicing is complete.
3. Tool and Equipment Management
• Ensure tools and equipment are available, clean, and in good condition.
• Return tools to proper storage after use.
4. Safety Compliance
• Follow all mine site safety rules and procedures (PPE, lockout-tagout, confined space entry, etc.).
• Report hazards or unsafe practices immediately.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
5. Documentation and Reporting
• Assist with filling out basic maintenance checklists and shift reports.
• Communicate any observed equipment issues to the fitter artisan.
6. Support During Breakdowns
• Be on standby to assist with emergency breakdown repairs.
• Provide physical support in moving parts, lifting equipment, or fetching spares.
7. Housekeeping Duties
• Clean workshops, service bays, and surrounding areas.
• Dispose of used materials and fluids according to environmental guidelines.
