Introduction
As an Engineering Coordinator the person will be responsible to oversee scheduling for projects, prepare preventative maintenance schedules and assist the engineering core functions in procedures and identifying and collaborating maintenance and utilization of all equipment and stock items. As well as supporting the overall advancement of the maintenance system.
Job description

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist project managers with schedule planning, coordinate tasks, and monitor the timelines of scheduled assignments. Identify potential scheduling delays and facilitate remedial action.
  • Consulting with project managers and role player to set up assignments, tasks, and subtasks
  • Coordinating project timelines with internal departments and external stakeholders
  • Evaluating performance and preparing project progress reports.
  • Accommodating updates and changes to project schedule
  • Keeping stakeholders informed of project timelines and deadlines.
  • Documenting project scheduling processes and maintaining records
  • Assist the project team for Quality assurance checks and Site Construction Team to address technical issues.
  • Prepare preventative maintenance plans and schedules that are in line with the maintenance goals.
  • Coordinate planned downtimes to reduce mean time between failures and minimize interference with production schedules. 
  • Minimize the number of interruptions once work begins.
  • Help with keeping an optimal stock of spare parts and materials.
  • Prepare and ensure compliance with preventive maintenance checklists and other standardized procedures
  • Assist in tracking of routable equipment sent out for repairs returning and monitoring.
  • Update and maintain asset register with all new projects and ensure the inclusion of maintenance schedules.
 
This position will enable:
 
·       Improve the current maintenance system and implement new job cards
·       Reduce total cost of maintenance while improving conditions of equipment and operating conditions
·       Minimize downtime and interruptions to operations
·       Provide orderly procedures for processing work to prevent work orders from getting lost:
A. Maintains accurate backlog status
B. Reports completion promptly
·       Require that operating personnel anticipate repair work before jobs become emergencies
·       Permit accurate forecasting of labour and material needs
·       Provide factual data required for evaluation of performance and corrective action as needed
·       Provide close and constant liaison between operations and maintenance
·       Provide feedback of productive work for each artisan and thus increase productivity through the elimination of delays
·       Allow for more accurate collection and analysis of cost and assure an economic level of maintenance with less interruption of production
·       Highlight for analysis requests for repeated work and breakdowns

Minimum requirements

·       3 year National Diploma/Degree in Engineering
·       3-5 years experience
·       Project Management Certificate
·       Microsoft office: word, excel & power point
