Introduction
DRDGOLD has transitioned completely from deep level underground mining to the large-scale retreatment of mine dumps and tailings dams. We have developed over time both the skillset and the systems that enable us to do this profitably and sustainably. The removal of remnant mining residues not only restores the environment, but also frees up previously sterilized land for sustainable land use. In addition, the quality of life of those living in close proximity of these installations is enhanced because of the removal of sources of airborne dust and effluent.
Job description
Assert protection officers are the line of defence for businesses and its surroundings against external threats, intrusion, and circumstantial vulnerabilities. Assert protection officers are tasked with securing the premises and personnel by staying on patrol, monitoring surveillance equipment, performing building inspections, guarding entry points, and verifying visitors.
Minimum requirements
Minimum Requirements:
· PSIRA registration Grade A
· Firearm Competency (Handgun, Shotgun, Rifle)
· Regulation 21 training
· Own Transport and valid drivers license
· Minimum 5 years security officer experience in mining
· Grade 12 Certificate
Additional Requirements:
· Perform adhoc shifts and work stand-by
· Knowledge of Gold Plant / Smelt house operation process
· Subject to polygraph test
