What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Plan & Schedule Maintenance: Develop and manage all routine, preventative, and statutory maintenance schedules for internal staff and external contractors to ensure minimal disruption to production.
- System Management & Compliance: Own the planned maintenance system (Pragma/MaintainX), ensuring the asset register is current and all statutory inspections and documentation are up-to-date and fully compliant.
- Contractor & Quality Oversight: Create detailed work plans for contractors, review completed maintenance, and provide final sign-off to ensure work meets required standards.
- Inventory & Spares Management: Proactively track and manage maintenance spares and consumables, ensuring critical spare parts are always available to prevent delays.
- Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with contractors to conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on equipment failures to identify and resolve underlying causes, driving down the Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).
- Training & Performance: Periodically train maintenance workers on best practices, new processes, and techniques to enhance team capability and productivity.
- Reporting & Analysis: Maintain and analyze maintenance, service, and breakdown reports to evaluate performance, track costs, and guide corrective action.

The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, strategic thinker with a proven track record in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Required Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in Planned Maintenance & Asset Management Systems (e.g., Pragma, MaintainX, SAP PM, DMS, etc.).
- Manufacturing Preventive Maintenance: Strong knowledge of industry equipment and the ability to execute structured preventive maintenance programs.
- Plant Operations & Facilities Management: Knowledge of day-to-day and strategic management of a manufacturing facility's physical infrastructure.
Core Competencies:
- Tactical & Strategic Planning: Ability to contribute to operational (short-term), tactical (1-2 years), and strategic (3-5 years) planning.
- Project Management: Proven ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control maintenance projects, including proficiency in using tools like Gantt charts, Pareto Graphs, etc.
- Problem Solving, RCA and FEMCA: Strong analytical skills to anticipate, recognize, and effectively resolve operational and process problems.
- Conflict Management: Ability to manage existing or potential conflicts at individual, group, or situational levels.

- Minimizing operational downtime and interruptions to production.
- Reducing the total cost of maintenance while significantly improving equipment condition through effective asset management principles.
- Improving the current maintenance system by implementing new, orderly work procedures (job cards) that eliminate lost or skipped work orders and provide accurate backlog status.
- Increasing artisan productivity through detailed planning and the elimination of work delays.
- Enabling accurate forecasting and resource management.
- Accurately provide availability and utilisation figures of all ERGO Operations and Plants
Minimum requirements
· Engineering Technical Qualification – Trade, Diploma or Degree
· 3-5 years’ experience in planned maintenance foreman or planner with experience in a Process Plant Environment
· Project Management Certificate
· Microsoft office: word, excel & power point
