Introduction
A Boilermaker Artisan is required at the Knights Plant. Within a metallurgical gold processing environment, this role forms a key part of the Engineering Department and is responsible for the fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair of structural steelwork, storage tanks, pressure vessels, and plant equipment.
Job description
The incumbent will ensure the mechanical integrity and reliability of critical processing infrastructure, including milling and treatment circuits, by executing planned maintenance, breakdown repairs, and statutory inspections in accordance with engineering standards and safety regulations. This role is essential in minimizing unplanned downtime, maintaining operational efficiency, and supporting continuous plant throughput.
The Boilermaker will also be expected to interpret technical drawings, perform coded welding where required, and contribute to condition monitoring and preventative maintenance strategies to enhance equipment performance and lifespan.
Minimum requirements
• 3 - years’ experience as an artisan
• Section 13 or 26D red seal Trade Certificate
• Must have completed a 3-year apprenticeship/ learnership progamme.
• Clear criminal record.
• Valid Driver’s License
• A mobile telephone is to be contactable when required.
• Reside within 30 km radius from Ergo operations.
• Own transport
