A Protection Monitor will be gathering and analyzing information about the protection environment, risks faced by individuals and communities, and actions taken to address those risks. It helps identify and prevent human rights violations and other potential harm, informing decision-making for humanitarian and development interventions.
Job description

Key responsibilities
• To Perform Radiation Protection Monitor’s functions as per NNR & operationalrequirements
• Responsible for Instrument control (Maintenance, calibration, repair, etc.)
• Assist with self-inspections using the relevant checklist as per Self InspectionProgamme (Proper knowledge of           requirements is required to identifydeficiencies)
• Delivery and collection of Instruments to and from the suppliers
• Assist the RP Function with any duties/functions required for compliance torequirements of the NNR.
• Perform other functions as requested by the RPO/ Environmental Manager

Minimum requirements

Minimum Requirements:
• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Radiation Protection Monitors Certificate
• Valid Driver’s License
• Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Knowledge of maintenance, operation & downloading of radiation measuringinstruments such as Electra, Redeye Sx,    Redeye G-10, RS-230, etc.
• Proximity to Ergo plant 30 km radius
Advantageous:
• Matric level Math’s & Science (Required for future advancement to RPO)
• Radiation Protection Officer Certificate
• Thorough knowledge of relevant software, (i.e. Google Earth, GPS plotting systems, Maps, Surfer, Sampling software,       etc.)
